Read for you: Approved in the United States Osphena is there a female viagra?
Presented as female viagra, the Osphena just obtained approval from the U.S. authorities. But this drug is aimed at women over 50 who suffer the effects of menopause.
It has to get permission from the Food and Drug Admistration (FDA) and a lot of interest on the other side of the Atlantic. The Osphena is indicated for the treatment of postmenopausal women with dyspareunia, that is to say a lot of pain during sexual intercourse. But already the press has dubbed the female Viagra.
What is it exactly? In fact, this drug contains estrogen. It helps soften the tissue and increase secretions. It is therefore aimed at women with, including vaginal dryness during menopause. The Osphena therefore make them less painful intercourse and women feel less apprehensive. In this sense, it can act indirectly on the libido. But it has no effect on the psychological component of desire.
The comparison with Viagra does not happen to be when the blue pill improves erectile function. Its action is a mechanical while female sexuality follows organic and psychological stimuli.
However, the prescription of estrogen must be continuous medical supervision. It is aimed at women who are experiencing hormonal disorders. The treatment can indeed cause effects.
