Amnesty International Report : Violated the rights of migrants in the world

The Amnesty International 2013 report on human rights sheds light on refugees and displaced persons.

Amnesty International's 2013 report on the human rights situation, a country by country assessment of the violations identified in 2012 in 159 States, depicts a bleak picture again. Half of sifted by the association nations have conducted unfair trials last year, nearly three-quarters (70%) have tortured their citizens and more than a third (36%) had prisoners of conscience. But what most struck the report is the accumulation of damage to human rights against migrant populations.

"Without international action in the field of human rights, the world is becoming increasingly dangerous for refugees and migrants," said Amnesty International. The world has 214 million migrants with less than 2% are undocumented. According to UN figures, 26 million people are displaced within their own country and 15 million are refugees in a foreign country. Syria, Mali, Democratic Republic of Congo, Sudan ... Many conflicts occurred last year, have driven hundreds of thousands of people away from home. The premium amounts to Syria with nearly a million and a half refugees and displaced four million people. "These millions of people were forced to leave their homes because of the inability of the international community to resolve conflicts and because of its desire to protect its borders," says Genevieve Garrigos, president of Amnesty International France.

In the camps, these people are victims of abuse, sexual violence and xenophobic discourse. "Around the world, trapped on a regular basis for migrants and asylum seekers in detention centers, and even in containers or boxes of metal," says Amnesty. "We have the tools, ensures Garrigos Geneviève, the problem is the lack of respect for conventions and men. That is why we take this alarm. "
