Roadshow from Cape to Cairo: Philips introduces a technology for safe delivery


This Dakar yesterday in a Cape to Cairo Roadshow, Conrad H. Smits, the CEO of Royal Philips has announced the launch of an innovative reliable technology for safe delivery.


For 2013, Philips introduced its latest in ultrasound as well as temperature control systems for infants specially designed for providers of many of the continent clinical environments. Designed and developed for markets such as Africa, the new hot table Efficia offers a reliable solution for thermoregulation newborns creating a warm and stable environment, which is essential for the immediate and long-term survival of a baby. Efficia is designed as an open environment of care for newborns and provides an intense source of radiant heat energy, emitted by temperature feedback to the baby's skin. Easy to use and reliable, Efficia is another example of Philips' commitment to provide effective, affordable and simple solutions for reducing maternal and neonatal mortality in Africa. Philips has included in this traveling Senegal shipping for the first time in displaying his ambition to help revitalize the health infrastructure of the country and contribute to government efforts to improve maternal and child health. Over the two days, more than 160 health care professionals will be trained by Philips in Dakar to improve the quality of maternal and child care. The stage of Senegal, which is supported by the local partner Medisys (Medical Systems Sarl) is part of an aggressive multi-year investment plan to significantly increase the group's presence on the African continent with innovations to meet the needs premises. Philips also introduced the ClearVue 650 new, advanced functionality with Auto Face Reveal to visualize the baby's face ultrasound imaging system or strengthen the parent-fetus. ClearVue 650 is a lightweight and cost effective system that assists clinicians in the examination of pregnant women and improve their diagnosis and decision making. Apart from pregnancy-related care, the ClearVue 650 system covers a range of applications including obstetrics, gynecology, cardiology, abdominal, vascular, breast, musculoskeletal, urology and imaging in general.
